Honduras coach Reinaldo Rueda hopes the bond between his players can make up for their lack of World Cup experience as they prepare for their opening game in the tournament against Chile on Wednesday.

Los Catrachos are making only their second appearance at the finals, the first coming in 1982, and although some of the team's more high-profile players are based in Europe the bulk of the squad play in Central America and lack experience at the top level.

Colombian coach Rueda, who is still monitoring the fitness of midfielder Wilson Palacios and David Suazo, told diez.hn: "Honduras must compensate for the lack of global experience with a desire and willingness to do things right, with motivation, with the camaraderie between them."
