Obituary

MAGRI. On June 10, at Karin Grech Hospital, MARIE LOUISE, of Sta Venera, aged 83, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sisters Lina and her husband Tony Inglott, Josephine, widow of Charles Farrugia, and Dorothy, her brother Roland, widow of Doris, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral Mass praesente cadavere will be said tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. at Sta Venera parish church, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Dar tal-Providenza would be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

MICALLEF. On June 9, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIE THERESE (Tessie), née Naudi, of Sliema, widow of Edgar, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Geraldine, wife of Joseph Said Pullicino and Brian and his wife Corinne, her grandchildren Sarah and her husband Chris Fenech, Christine, Francesca and Lara and Andrew Mallia, her brothers Hugh and William and their respective wives, in-laws, relatives and friends. Special thanks go to her carers Maricon, Maritess, Nellie and Louise for their love and dedication and also to the staff at CCCU, Mater Dei Hospital. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

TABONE. On June 10, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANTHONY of Valletta, residing at Rabat, aged 77, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Tereża, his children Lorraine, Joseph and his wife Anne Marie, his grandsons Andrew and Keith-Joseph, his brothers, Fr Alfred Tabone, OFM, and George and his wife Tonina, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 3 p.m. for Ta' Ġieżu church, Rabat, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Margherita Cemetery, Rabat. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

VELLA. On June 10, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH, ex-employee of PBS, of Senglea and residing in Żabbar, aged 79 years, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Euphrasia, his children Nadette and her husband Charlie, Carmelina and her husband Manuel, Inigo and his wife Josette, grandchildren Jean Luke, Adriana, Alessandro, Victoria, Johann, Nicolette and Gabriella, his sister Cecilia and her husband Ronnie, in-laws and their respective spouses, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 7.15 a.m. for Our Lady of Victories basilica, Senglea, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 7.45 a.m. followed by interment at Żabbar Cemetery in the family grave. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Hospice Moviment will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Fomm ir-Riħ clean-up

Mdina concert

The L'Isle Adam Band of Rabat will perform a concert to mark the 150th anniversary of its foundation on June 21 at 8 p.m. in Cathedral Square, Mdina. Attendance is free and those attending must be seated by 7.45 p.m. For more information visit www.bandaliseladam.com.

Separation and children

A public meeting on marriage will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Catholic Institute in Floriana, organised by the Cana Movement. Magistrate Doreen Clarke will discuss the effects of separation on children.

Paceville post office

Maltapost's branch in Paceville Road, St Julians will only be open from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. between Tuesday and September 30.

Power cuts

Power will be suspended for scheduled maintenance tomorrow in the following localities:

From 8 to 11 a.m. in Mġarr, Imrejżbiet, Qirgħan, St Andrew and Il-Garden streets, Għajnsielem.

From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Ta' Gawhar area, Safi.

From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in parts of Il-Kappuċini, Naxxar, Ġużè Colombo and Massabelle streets, San Ġwann.

From 2.30 to 5 p.m. in Ġnien Xibla, Parisot, Patri Mattew Sultana and Vestru streets, Xagħra.
