A Spanish man, aged 26, was hit by a bus as he was crossing Tower Street in St Julians this evening. His condition was described by the police as being serious, but not life threatening

The accident happened at around 5.55 p.m.

Sources said the man crossed the road from in front of the Carmelite Convent in Balluta.

The bus was being driven by a 25-year-old from Kalkara.
