Three foreign coaches for academy summer school

The Table Tennis Academy will host three international coaches for this year's summer school.

Erik Nordlander, of Sweden, is returning to take part in the academy's summer events along with Irish coach Owen Kelly and Harald Reisch from Austria.

On the domestic scene, Dream Team, composed of TTA players Ryan Tabone, Dario Portelli, Olaf Magri and Miguel Balzan, won the Third Division title and JAK TTT, with academy players Jake Galea and Keith Vanhear in the team, narrowly missed promotion to Div. Two.

Melita B Cadets had TTA members Steve Bugeja and Andrew Gambina in the side. They grabbed the honours in Division Two while St James TTA, composed of Portelli brothers, Daniel, Marcus and Andrea, finished a creditable third in the same category. James Dawson, of San Ġwann Flutistat, helped his team claim promotion to Division One.

Table Tennis Academy Tibhar, composed of Mario Genovese, Edward Baldacchino, Daniel Fondacaro and Mathew Micallef, narrowly lost out in the race for the Division One title.

Meanwhile, academy cadets Therese Genovese and Dylan Zammit represented Malta at the EuroKids International training camp in Italy last month. They were accompanied by coach Alex Anastasi.

Applications are now being accepted for the summer school. One may obtain more details by phoning 7959-1799.
