The enchanting allure of the shrine of Ta' Pinu, in Gozo, visited annually by thousands of pilgrims, has been captured in film and on paper.

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the coronation of the painting of Ta' Pinu on June 20, 1935 by the legate of the Pope, Cardinal Alessio Enrico Maria Lepicier, Ta' Pinu Publications have released a new book entitled A Temple To Our Lady, Ta' Pinu Basilica.

With more than 300 photographs, the 192-page, colour coffee table book celebrates the architectural fascination of the basilica, its beautiful works of art and ex-voto, archival photographs of the construction of the church and the yearly calendar of events at the sanctuary accompanied with a vivid and comprehensive narrative by Fr Charles Cini SDB.

Photography and design is by Daniel Cilia.

It will be available in hard bound, at €50 per copy, from the basilica during and after the feast of Ta' Pinu on June 22. It is also available via the basilica's website: www.tapinu.org. For any orders before the feast, Ta' Pinu Publications is offering a special pre-publication price of €35.

All profits from the book go to the upkeep of the basilica.

A 31 by 22 centimetre poster of the portrait of Our Lady of Ta' Pinu printed on 250 grams Fabriano cotton paper is being offered free with each copy of the book.
