Megabyte secures major IT project for Cyprus Airways

Megabyte Ltd, the Mosta-based ICT and professional services company, has signed a consortium agreement with Logicom Solutions Ltd of Cyprus, for the provision of a human resource, rostering and payroll system to Cyprus Airways. This project was won against stiff competition from large international vendors which specialise in providing integrated IT solutions for the airline sector.

The five-year contract will see the consortium partners' teams work with Cyprus Airways' human resources and IT departments. Implementation will take place over a 24-month period. The solution is scheduled to go live by early 2012 and, upon commissioning, the consortium partners will be responsible to provide full maintenance and support services for their respective deliverables.

Megabyte's Oracle Enterprise Solutions Business Unit has been entrusted with the execution of the deliverables that fall under its direct responsibility. Using a team of Oracle Consultants and application specialists, Megabyte will provide professional and technical services to implement EasyRoster by Megabyte and Oracle HCM comprising, HR and Self-Service HR, HR Intelligence, Performance Management, iRecruitment, Time & Labour and Learning Management. Logicom Solutions, who are acting as the lead partner in the consortium, will provide a localized Payroll system together with licences for all Oracle products as well as a "high-availability" HP Proliant server system.

Cyprus Airways expects that, once commissioned, this project will bring about greater automation and standardisation to improve efficiency and cost effectiveness as well as a better supporting platform to deliver improved services to its workforce.
