Moratti in the dark over Benitez

Massimo Moratti does not know when Rafael Benitez's appointment as Inter Milan manager will be officially announced.

Benitez is in the process of finalising a deal to become coach of the Nerazurri after club president Moratti last night confirmed an agreement had been reached with the Spaniard.

Moratti announced the club are just awaiting Benitez's signature on a contract after successful talks between the parties in recent days.

Moratti last night said negotiations with Benitez had not taken place in person and revealed an announcement would be made later today to confirm when Benitez would be officially unveiled as Jose Mourinho's successor.

However, this morning Moratti said the appointment was in the control of club director Marco Branca.

Moratti said on Inter's official website, www.inter.it: "Wait for the club to tell you something, I do not do that kind of work here.

"Wait for Marco Branca and the others to tell you when the time will be and when the new coach will be presented."
