Parliamentary Secretary hospitalised

Parliamentary Secretary Mario Galea has been hospitalised after suffering pneumonia, informed sources said.

He was taken to hospital yesterday and is being kept under observation.

Labour whip Joe Mizzi told parliament today that he was not taking part in voting in the House while Mr Galea was away for medical reasons.

The elderly residents and all the staff at Casa Serena would like to wish Hon Mario Galea a speedy recovery from his illness. We augur him well and hope that he will be soon fit, and back at his post to continue with his sterling work amongst us senior citizens.

It was David Agius who brought things in the open. So wher's the blunder?

The Pope has spoken....stop preaching Mr. Fenech. Spare us the crap! You should direct your comments at the Parliamentarians not at the commentators!

@ Joseph Grech.
Are you on of those who always mix up arguments with political hatred? Then, if you are, my comment was intended directly to you! Enjoy!!!!!

Why are you only addressing Mr Mizzi? These things should happen from both sides of Parliament. Let's just leave it at that shall we?

@ Fenech MD .......From the article it is Hon MIzzi who offered not to vote..that's why i addressed him.. but...... yes .....you are right i was not clear enough..I meant both sides of the house should behave as I am proposing.

How hypocritical can you get? First you say you "do not hate" then you proceed to spout a litany of false allegations, lies and base falsities against those you have just claimed you do not hate.

I shudder to think what you would do to those that you Do hate.

however that does not mean that we do not hate the way the PL media incites, twists and misrepresent facts and makes false allegations galore.

U ejja Sur Martinelli iddahhakniex!!!!!!

Mela ma taqrax in-nazzjon, il-mument u Net TV biex ma nsemmux il-hafna attaparsi opinjonisti li jtukom palata !!!

Were you living in Malta during the 1980's? Or you have a very short memory, or better to say that you only remember the negative side of those times! Try to show some maturity in your comments, by saying true facts on both sides of the political spectrum. Probably you won't succeed!!!! Well, let's hope that the people out there can judge on their own intelligence. I wish you luck!!!

Mela you convienetly forgot Mr. Martinelli, how way back in the 60's, I believe, a member of the pn parliamentary group went out of parliament, calmly opened his bonnet, took off his Battery lead, went inside again and struck a blow to a pl member. Now if that does'nt fall under Hate word, I don't know what does.

Typical of you Martinelli. If as you say Joseph has sent the PL 30 years back, why do you constantly worry that your darling Gonezi is going to lose the next election because otherwise you would not have to constantly try to defend the indefensible Gonezi.

Alfred Vassallo I remember a little poem written by Dr Anton Buttigieg following that incident God rest both their souls since both have now left us for better pastures.

Randu Galea kull filgħodu
Mal-familja jgħid Ave Maria
Ġo but iqiegħed il-kuruna
U fl-ieħor terminal tal-batterija.

The word " hate" should not form part of anyone's political vocabulary. Politicians on opposite sides are adversaries not enemies. People disgaree with each other''s political arguments. They do not hate each other's points of disagreement. Mr Martinelli belongs to an old school that is practically extinct in Malta. I got the same feeling visiting Maltese migrants in Autralia and in Canada years ago when considering the Maltese language our emigrants spoke - a language that I could hardly decipher because their understanding and pronunciation of the Maltese language had stopped at the stage it was when they emigrated to their receiving countries in the thirties and forties. Mr Martinelli has suffered the same fate, His politics of hate belong to the time when he left Malta when politically, people hated each other The Maltese are much more mature as a people now but Mr Martinelli is in no position to appreciate that. .
Meanwhole a speedy recovery to Mario Galea and a great "well done" to the LP leadership and to Joe Mizzi for showing, once again, that this LP is a mature Party that knows when to to make the distinction betweem wheat amd chaff.

Get well soon Mario Galea and thumbs up for Joe Mizzi's decision.

The PL has always shown the requisite maturity in parliament. It was those who tried to frame Justyne Caruana who defiled parliament and degraded it to a horrible degree.
