Mixing talented newcomers with crafty veterans, Mexico is confident of a best-ever showing by reaching the semi-finals of the global football showdown.
"We have the best team ever," said coach Javier Aguirre.
"We're not scared of anything. We're prepared for this challenge. Our intention is to have a historic world cup".
However, the Mexicans have never got past the quarter-finals and have only stopped that far twice, both times on home soil.
