Tottenham midfielder Wilson Palacios insists he will be fit to play for Honduras in the World Cup despite suffering an injury scare in his country's final warm-up against Romania yesterday.

Palacios picked up an abductor muscle injury in the second half and was substituted in the 67th minute. The Hondurans went on to lose the match 3-0 in St Veit an der Glan in Austria.

However Palacios has moved to allay Honduran fears over his injury ahead of their opener against Chile on June 16.

He told La Prensa: "I suppose I pulled an abductor but I feel much better. Thank God it's nothing serious."

Honduras begin their Group H campaign against Chile in Nelspruit on June 16.
