Looking for photo of first head of Maria Regina school

This year St Ignatius College (formerly Maria Regina) Girls' Junior Lyceum is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its move from its original premises in Valletta to the current location in Blata l-Bajda, which was inaugurated on October 1, 1959.

The head of school at the time was Concetta Borg Calleja, who had the task and responsibility to plan the migration from Valletta to the new school at Blata l-Bajda.

Ms Borg Calleja stayed at the helm of the school till 1960 when Concetta Sammut succeeded her. We are now researching our school's history, particularly that of the past 50 years.

So far we have managed to find photos of all past heads of school, with the exception of Ms Borg Calleja.

So it would be greatly appreciated if any readers who might have a photo of Ms Borg Calleja or any other relevant information were to e-mail us at: sic.blatalbajda .gjl@gov.mt or call 2122 1972 or 9999 7133.
