Jeanette Azzopardi and Louise Teuma of Xagħra were presented with 'The Bill Kendrew Award'after being voted the best student chef and the best restaurant server respectively.

The trophy and medals were presented by Mr Kendrew himself during a ceremony at the Institute of Tourism Studies in Qala last Tuesday.

Mr Kendrew, a renowned chef, took an interest in the institute when he saw the high standard and the hard work and dedication put in by students.

Present for the award-giving were Malta Chefs Society chairman Guido Debono, members of the Gozo Tourism Association and officials from the Gozo Ministry and the Employment Training Centre.
