Lewis Hamilton admitted he hasn't stopped smiling since winning the Turkish Grand Prix a week ago, and is expecting an even stronger performance for McLaren in Montreal next week.

Hamilton took his first win of 2010 at the Istanbul Park circuit, finishing ahead of team-mate and fellow Briton Jenson Button who completed a one-two for McLaren.

The 25-year-old Englishman, who had not won in nine races, admitted that he was concerned about the speed of the Red Bull cars, but believes it is now McLaren's turn to take the reins.

Red Bull drivers Australian Mark Webber and German Sebastian Vettel have been setting the pace this season, but despite claiming pole position in every race they have only managed three wins.

The Red Bull drivers collided in Istanbul and handed the win to Hamilton, and McLaren's one-two put them at the top of the constructors championship.

"I can't keep the smile off my face - we are absolutely on it!" beamed Hamilton.

"This team is just an incredible development machine - it never stops.

"I think the result in Turkey was the perfect motivation we needed, and I know the whole factory is working flat-out to bring forward the new parts."

Hamilton won his first Grand Prix in Montreal in 2007 and the 2008 world champion said that he was excited about returning to a circuit he loves, and hopes to capitalise on McLaren's current momentum.

"2007 seems like such a long time ago," he said, "but I still have some absolutely fantastic memories of that weekend. It was fantastic.

"We go to Canada feeling highly motivated, and I can just sense there's a momentum building within the team - I had the same feeling in 2008, and I know that we can achieve great things together over the next six months."

Button, the 2009 champion, currently second in the drivers' standings, said he is overwhelmed by the progress McLaren have made since the start of the season and that he has loved contributing to their success.

Button said: "I've been in teams before where we've perhaps started the season strongly, or we've had a bit of a performance improvement towards the end of the season, but I'm really overwhelmed by how much this team can just keep developing.

"It's great to be part of the process that helps to test, refine and approve the new components we bring to the track each week. The feeling of contributing is incredible, and very rewarding.

"And you just can't believe how hungry this team is: when I joined back in January, I was really struck by just how much we were pushing.

"Now we're into an incredibly tough series of races, and we're still bringing these huge new development parts to the track, and we're bringing enough parts for both Lewis and myself - it's awesome.

"Canada is always an unpredictable weekend - it's a bit of a one-off, which is great for F1 - and I think this year's race has all the ingredients for a classic."
