Nurture groups in primary schools seminar

St Nicholas College, in collaboration with the European Centre for Educational Resilience and Socio-Emotional Health at the University of Malta, is holding a seminar on nurture groups in primary schools at Attard Primary School on Tuesday at 9 a.m.

The seminar includes the launch of a new book, Nurture Groups in Primary Schools: The Maltese Experience, edited by Dr Carmel Cefai and Prof. Paul Cooper and published by VDM Publications.

The book is intended as a practical resource for schools and practitioners who would like to know more about nurture groups, their benefits and effectiveness, and how they may be set up in schools.

A DVD, Nurture Groups fil-Primarja, has been produced to accompany the book and will also be launched during the seminar.

The DVD depicts a day in the life of a nurture group in a primary school in Malta, describing the activities taking place during the day and the processes which facilitate learning during such activities.
