Double Trap GP

The Malta Shooting Sport Federation (MSSF) will host the Malta International Double Trap Grand Prix 2010 at its ranges in Bidnija tomorrow.

The top-notch competition has attracted the participation of over 30 world ranking shooters, and the list also includes some from the local scene.

Olympic medallists Francesco D'Aniello and Daniele Di Spigno, both Italian, the top ranked Hakan Dahlby, of Sweden, Briton Steve Walton and Richard Bognor, of Hungary, will join other shooters from the United Arab Emirates, Finland, Kuwait and India for the competition at Bidnija.

Maltese hopes rest mostly on William Chetcuti's shoulders.

Matthew Grech, Nathan Lee Xuereb and Derek Bonanno have also been selected in Team Malta for the Grand Prix.

Each competitor will shoot three rounds of 50 clays each, starting at 9 a.m.

The best six will qualify for the barrage final of another 50 flash targets. This will take place at around 3 p.m.

Organised by the MSSF, the Malta International Double Trap Grand Prix is supported by the Kunsill Malti għall-iSport, Middlesea Life, BOV, Pintonino Restaurant and Blue Line.
