Through the efforts of the Malta Tourism Authority, the Football League - which represents all clubs in the English football Championship, League One and League Two - will be holding its Summer Conference and annual general meeting in Malta between next Sunday and Tuesday at the Westin Dragonara Resort.

This high-profile assembly brings together chairmen and chief executives from each of the 72 clubs playing in the Football League for the 2010/11 season.

The Football League said yesterday an arrangement has been made, providing the tourism authority with a number of commercial opportunities including online advertising across the network of 82 official club websites run by FL Interactive - the digital arm of the Football League.

Andy Williamson, chief operating officer of the Football League, said: "We are delighted that this partnership enables us to hold our Summer Conference in Malta. Taking our clubs away, through the support of the MTA, allows chairmen and chief executives to focus on the important decisions facing the game today."
