A Mali illegal immigrant living in Malta who arrived in Italy with false documents yesterday has been sent back and was this morning charged with

Bubaker Camara, 22, apologised for his actions and cooperated with the police and admitted his guilt at an early stage of investigations.

Taking these factors into considering Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani jailed Mr Camara for six months suspended for a year.

She explained clearly to him the meaning of a suspended sentence.

Mr Camara thanked the magistrate and repeated that he was very sorry for what he had done.
