The new, state-of-the-art Domestica showroom was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi last night.
The showroom showcases the latest collection of 15 top international home brands and breaks boundaries with its eco-friendly, functional yet stylish approach to architectural design.
Through this new 3,000 square metre showroom, family-run Domestica plan to increase their visibility in the market while promoting several prestigious designer brands represented by the company, including Berloni, Kartell, Nicoletti, Garofoli and Mafi amongst others.
In anticipation of the new project, Domestica has already increased the staff complement to 40, providing in-depth training to ensure that the core family values are reflected throughout the new chapter in its journey.
The inauguration of this showroom coincides with another transition for Domestica, with the company operations being handed from the first Vassallo Cesareo generation to the second generation.
Chris Vassallo Cesareo and Francesca Cassar will be taking the company forward as managing director and business development director, respectively. The company is also marking the start of this new chapter with the unveiling of a new brand identity which captures the refreshed spirit of Domestica – It’s Time For New Ideas.
The new showroom, the creation of celebrated Italian architectural engineer Enzo Eusebi and the team of local architects Christian Spiteri, Pierre Farrugia and Mark Camilleri, together with the interior design team led by Carlo Schembri - comprises an atrium, a shop-‘n-shop accessory store and three floors - all designed with an eco-friendly approach in mind.
The ground-floor will offer visitors a comprehensive living-room experience, with sofas, TV units, accessories and anything that you might expect to find in your chill-out area. Children’s and adults’ bedrooms are located on the first floor.
Domestica’s collection of Berloni kitchens occupies the second floor while the third floor is dedicated to Domestica’s custom made furniture and will be reserved for corporate clients, such as restaurants, retail outlets and hotels, besides offering furnishing options for second homes and summer residences.
The company’s founding core family values are even in the design of the iconic, new showroom. The showroom uses a mixture of stone, glass and steel, with the stone representing the solid foundations of the company and the glass and steel representing the new ideas and identity.
“Stone is in a bigger proportion to the glass and steel structure as both Francesca and myself have the greatest respect towards the tradition, experience and strong family values which we gain from our 40 year heritage. We look forward to bring fresh ideas to the market, to our customers and to the homes of many families in Malta and Gozo,” Mr Vassallo Cesareo said.
