After weeks of uncertainty following the withdrawal of the powerboats championship's financial backers, the season is likely to continue after a new group took up the reins for the rest of the calendar.

The first race of the season was held in Yalta, Ukraine, last month. However, teams in SuperSport and Evolution were surprised to learn that the championship was in the balance following problems arising from P1's withdrawal from the organisation. The race in Ukraine was backed by the direct investment of the country.

A new structure has now been formed with the sole aim of concluding this year's championships, both in SuperSport and Evolution classes.

The race in Malta will be backed by a group of local and foreign investors, based in Malta. The race will be held on June 11-13.
