The opposition has given notice of a motion in Parliament to amend a legal notice on the procedure to be followed in appeals from government decisions on the award of public contracts.

The Labour Party said the legal notice, published in view of the EU's Remedies Directives, contained a number of mistakes.

Furthermore, in terms of the legal notice, the Water Services Corporation and Enemalta could still continue to publish contracts without reference to the Contracts Department. This meant that recommendations made by the Auditor General when he examined the BWSC case were being ignored.
