The Gozo Tourism Association complained this morning that the summer season is round the corner and as yet the Ramla il-Hamra beach is still littered with large pebbles.

""Such a situation is rendering the only proper beach on Gozo practically difficult to use as it is posing danger to visitors and bathers," the association said.

It said it was aware that works were carried out recently and the larger stones were buried in the same sand.

"However the situation did not improve that much to make Ramla l-Hamra a beach that can be enjoyed by both locals and foreigners alike."

It said the authorities needed to act to render this popular tourist spot accessible to all without any danger.
