"Come All You Unto Me" is the name given to this painting by the famous Gozitan artist Chev. Paul Camilleri Cauchi.
This painting depicts the Sacred Family welcoming our children - children who have Down Syndrome. This unique painting is the result of in depth thoughts of the artist who wanted and managed to create this special masterpiece for the occasion of this year's World Down Syndrome Day which the Down Syndrome Association yearly celebrates on March 21.
This day is celebrated worldwide. The date was chosen to signify the uniqueness of Down Syndrome in the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which is used synonymously with Down syndrome. Commemoration of World Down Syndrome Day started on March 21, 2006.
The Down Syndrome Association is now the proud owner of this marvellous painting. Paul Camilleri Cauchi has kindly donated this work of art to our association. This beautiful painting catches the eye of whoever enters our Board room.
The Down Syndrome Association wishes to publicly thank Gozo Arts who donated the frame and Chev Camilleri Cauchi for their kind, generous gesture which means a lot to us.
