Golden wedding

The marriage took place on May 29, 1960 at St Aloysius College church, Birkirkara. Congratulations and best wishes from their children Lucienne and her husband Franz, Marise and her husband Mark, Christopher and his wife Rose, and their grandchildren Francesca, Mark and Karl, Elena and Matthew, Benjamin and Jeremy.

Obituary

ABDILLA. On May 27, DORIS née Camilleri, aged 73, widow of Maurice, passed away peacefully at her Ta' Xbiex residence, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brothers Rev. Bro. Louis Camilleri fsc, and Spiro and his wife Jackie of US, her sisters Catherine, Cettina and her husband Joe Buttigieg, Bice and her husband Salvino Muscat, her sister-in-law Marie-Therese, widow of Reno, her late husband's family, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 8.30 a.m. for St John of the Cross parish church, Ta' Xbiex, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.15 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to charitable institutions would be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

AQUILINA. On May 28, FRANK X, aged 78, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his wife Joyce née Camilleri, his children, Alex and his wife Berta, Norman and his wife Sharon, Steve, Manoel, Glorianne and her husband Andrew, his treasured grandchildren, Matthew, Nicky, Bettina, Timmy, Rebekah and George, his sisters Tessie and Rose. The funeral leaves Mater Dei hospital today where family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service praesente cadavere at 2 p.m. at Ta' L-Ibrag church followed by a private interment. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MIFSUD GRECH. On May 28, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH, aged 83, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Ines, his children Silvana and her husband Lino Haber, Ramon and his partner Samantha Farrugia, his grandchildren Justin and his fiancée Raquel Camenzuli, Pearl, Rica, Rhone and Ramon Jr, other relatives and friends, all of whom are invited to attend the funeral. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.45 p.m. for St Publius parish church, Floriana, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to the Malta Hospice Movement will be appreciated. The family would like to show their gratitude to the staff of Sir Paul Boffa Hospital. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

TRICCAS. On May 27, at Mater Dei Hospital, FREDDIE, aged 72, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Chris, his daughter Amanda and her husband Royston, all living in England, as well as his many dear and loyal friends in Malta who meant so much to him and whose care for him was a source of great comfort. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 9 a.m. for Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to the Malta Hospice Movement, Balzan, will be appreciated. Gratitude is due to the staff of Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, Mater Dei Hospital and the Charella Residential Home, Sliema. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Football tournament

A football tournament will be held in aid of the Ursuline Crèche tomorrow from 8.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. at St Martin's College, Swatar Road, Swatar.

US Embassy closed

The US Embassy will be closed on Monday, US Memorial Day, which commemorates men and women who died while in military service. Normal business hours resume on Tuesday.

The following localities will experience power cuts tomorrow:

Health and safety award

The Occupational Health and Safety Authority is accepting nominations for the 10th edition of the European Good Practice Award.

The award by the European Agency for Health and Safety at Work is intended to recognise EU businesses' commitment to health and safety. The EU and OSHA are this year holding a campaign called Workplaces Which Bring Health To The Forefront.

Nominated enterprises and organisations will be judged by an independent panel. The winner will be announced in October.

Nominations can be submitted until August 31 at www.ohsa.org.mt.
