I was astonished to see in the latest invoices that the six-monthly electricity "service charge" for each of the common areas in our two apartment blocks had increased from €32.76 to €98.84. This represents an increase of more than 200 per cent! In each block we consumed a little over €40 of electricity in the same period. The service charge is more than double this.

How can this be justified, especially given the small number of apartment owners we have?
