As regards William P. Flynn's verbal diarrhoea of wild and unsubstantiated assertions against all religions and giving them space in newspapers, it should be wise to respect the readers' intelligence and abide by the Latin proverb Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur (That which is asserted without proof may be denied without the need to provide counter proof). In this particular instance, it is rather unsafe to follow that advice. Mr Flynn, being who he is, would rashly jump to the wrong conclusion that there is no one to reply to his outrageous pronouncements.
