A tyre burst and a fire broke out at the back of a bulk cement truck in Cirkewwa early this afternoon, quickly bringing the heavy vehicle to a halt.

Firemen from the Civil Protection Department were called to douse the flames before they could spread to the rest of the truck. No one was injured.
