When Employment Minister Dolores Cristina presents the 2010 financial estimates of the Employment and Training Corporation, she will be asking the House to approve a total expenditure budget of €7,239,000 or €1.5 million more than last year.

Figures presented in Parliament show that the capital expenditure vote of €326,000 (double that for 2009) is made up of €80,000 for building improvements (€42,000 last year) and €226,000 for furniture and equipment, including computer software (€125,000).

There is a sum of €20,000 for motor vehicles.

The budget for programmes and initiatives is €2,520,000, the bulk of which (€2,257,000) is earmarked for employment and training initiatives.

Staff costs - €3,275,000 - make up the bulk of the recurrent expenditure budget of €4,393,000.
