As the 2010 Fifa World Cup approaches, Deloitte has teamed up with Fantasy Football League to create its very own World Cup Fantasy Football League, accessible online.
This is a simple and free online game in which participants pick a "fantasy" team comprising international players who are actually competing in the World Cup matches. Depending on how the participant's selection of "real" players perform in their respective matches the fantasy team loses or gains points.
In addition to competing in the overall competition, participants can also compete with friends, relatives, clients and business colleagues - by creating their own private leagues.
Paul Mercieca, managing partner at Deloitte said: "Fantasy Football is a great, innovative way of having some additional fun with colleagues and friends as the World Cup fever kicks in even if you don't really follow football in general. We are thrilled to be part of this terrific initiative".
Participating in the Deloitte Fantasy Football competition is not restricted to Deloitte staff and families - but is open to anyone who would like to participate.
All one needs to do to take part is register their details on the Deloitte website at http://deloitte.fantasyleague.com . All registrants will be contacted as soon as the final team selection is made at the end of May. Registration will close when the game commences on June 11 - the first official game of the World Cup.
