The Gozo Billiards and Snooker Association has just rounded off another season of competitions played at the Leone Band Club.

The climax to the season was the final of the Gozo Snooker League which saw Jason Vassallo beating Shaun Sultana 7-2.

This season was a very particular one as, on the initiative of the association, it saw the return of pool competitions in the annual calendar.

Vassallo claimed the snooker league title for the first time in 2004 and has been defending it uninterruptedly since 2006.

On the other side of the table, this was the first snooker league final for Sultana.

Meanwhile, Sultana managed to secure a second place in the national U-19 league when he lost to Aaron Zammit in the final match last month.

Trophies were distributed by Giovanna Debono, Minister for Gozo, and Michael Caruana, president of the Leone Philharmonic Society.
