All Go TV customers, particularly the avid football fans, would be able to watch the majority of World Cup matches at no extra cost via the free-to-air transmissions provided by the state TV station, Television Malta and the Italian station RAI, the service provider said.
The World cup matches which will be aired by TVM and RAI covered the most important phases of the tournament, including the knock-out phase starting from the last 16 teams onwards up to the final, Go said.
It said Public Broadcasting Services announced recently it would broadcast 46 World Cup matches complete with a Maltese commentary for free. Italian broadcaster RAI will also be airing a selection of matches.
"With the FIFA 2010 World Cup just around the corner we know how important it is to our customers that they have reassurance and that they are confident of getting to enjoy every opportunity to watch the World Cup 2010 football event on their GO TV at no added cost whatsoever," said Claire Galea, Go's marketing communications manager.
