A 16-year-old boy was yesterday jailed for six months after he admitted to injuring a police sergeant as he was being escorted out of a courtroom last February.
The boy, who cannot be named because he is a minor, was arraigned on February 14 and accused of injuring three people in a fight at City Gate, Valletta. As he was being led out of the court room he became violent and had to be restrained by three officers.
In handing down judgment, Magistrate Saviour Demicoli took into consideration the teenager's guilty plea and the fact that he had breached the conditions of a previous release.
