80 patients were admitted to Mater Dei Hospital in the first four months of this year suffering from various forms of overdose, figures given in parliament show.
Health Minister Joseph Cassar said four people had suffered accidental overdose and 25 had attempted suicide. There were 41 cases where it was not known whether the overdose was accidental or planned.
The figures do not include patients at the Emergency Department who were not admitted to the wards.
