PBS today warned entities or individuals planning to set up big screens for commercial public viewing of World Cup matches that prior clearance from FIFA is necessary.

It said that because of the huge demand for such applications, FIFA had closed its online application process early. Applications from Malta could still be considered if received by PBS up to May 27.
