Updated 7.30 p.m.
The National Youth Council and the University Students' Council in a joint meeting for students this evening called on the government to quickly resolve the issue over the suspension of EU funds for the Youth in Action and LifeLong Learning programmes.
The two organisations also called for students to be kept informed of developments, and for accountability.
The two councils said they would be pushing for all youth organizations to form a common front on this issue.
They also invited students to sign a letter to the European Commission calling for the matter to be resolved.
The Commission is being asked to lift the suspension of funds and to resume the programmes with immediate effect in the interests of all those concerned.
Over 500 students affected
Education Minister Dolores Cristina has confirmed in Parliament that the suspension of EU funds has affected 111 students and projects by two colleges in the Comenius programme; 288 students and 56 teachers/lecturers in the Erasmus programme; and 109 students in the Leonardo da Vinci programme.
