Guilin's rice vermicelli should not be consumed because of the possibility of the presence of unauthorised genetically modified organisms.

The Environmental Health Directorate, which received the information through the EU's Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed, said the rice came in plastic bags weighing 400 grams apiece.

The directorate also advised consumers to steer clear of the Mill-Kċina Taz-Zija's minestrone soup mix because of the possible presence of plastic tube pieces.
