Obituary

ATTARD. On May 22, at Dar tal-Kleru, Birkirkara, Rev. Can MICHAEL ATTARD, of St Paul Collegiate church, Rabat, aged 87, went to meet the Risen Lord. He leaves to mourn his loss his sister Grace, his brothers Christian and his wife Victoria, Carmelo and his wife Josephine, his sisters-in-law Iris, Carmen and Carrie, as well as nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. Funeral Mass will be held at 3.30 p.m. at St Paul parish church, Rabat, today.

BARBARA. On May 22, at Karin Grech Hospital, VICTOR, aged 82, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sisters Mary, Carmen widow of Vincent Zammit Satariano, Anne and her husband Tony Pavia, his brother Tony and his wife Phyllis, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Karen Grech Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Our Lady of Graces church, Żabbar, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Żabbar Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. May he rest in peace.

CAMILLERI. On May 23, GEORGE, aged 61, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Victoria, his children Mary Jane, Ronald and his wife Natasha, Jeffrey, Joanne and Melanie, grand-daughter Kaija, brothers and sisters, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for St Mary parish church, Mosta, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Ħniena Divina Cemetery, St Paul's Bay. FORSHAW. On May 22, at Casa Arkati, Mosta, Miriam née Randon, aged 87 of Sliema, widow of Edward, passed away peacefully to meet the risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her only sister , Gaby, wife of Joseph Pellegrini Petit, and her beloved nieces Gabriella Holland and Monique, wife of John Formosa, and her great nephews and nieces, Nicholas, Ġulja, Carla, Pascal and Pippa, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Casa Arkati today at 9 a.m. for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 followed by interment at Santa Maria Adolorata Cemetery. KARDASSIS. On May 22, at her sister's residence in Attard, HELEN, nèe Costigan, widow of Panayotis of Greece, aged 72, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her irreparable loss her dearest son Vassileios, her sisters Carmen, wife of Anthony Tabone, Anna and Marie, wife of Fabio Insardà, her beloved nieces Mariella-Pia, Gabriella and Umberto, her in-laws in Greece, other relatives and her many friends in Malta and overseas. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow for Our Lady of the Assumption parish church, Attard, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi and to the Hospice Movement will be greatly appreciated. Dear Helen, you have left us to go and meet the Risen Lord. Our heart is broken but we are happy that you can now receive your reward for your generosity, love and suffering. Thank you for being such a good mother, sister, aunt and friend. Children's rights courses

The Office of the Commissioner for Children will be holding its annual children's rights course, Rights 4U, with the aim of providing public education designed to promote an understanding of children's rights.

Due to popular demand, two courses will be held this year. The first will be held at Marsaxlokk Youth Hostel from July 30 to August 1, while the second will be held at Manresa House in Gozo from August 26 to 28.

All young people aged between 13 and 15 are eligible to apply.

Administrative committees

Voters who will be abroad on June 5, the polling day for administrative committees, can make a declaration on oath before the Electoral Commission at Evans Building, St Elmo Square, Valletta by not later than Friday and vote on Saturday.

The commission offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. on Saturday.

Treatment abroad section

The Treatment Abroad Section, based at St Luke's Hospital, Guardamangia, will close on Friday to move to Mater Dei Hospital and will open again on May 31. It can be reached on 2545 3890/1/2/3 or at specializedreferrals.mhec @gov.mt.

School exhibition

An exhibition will be held on Thursday and 28 from 9 a.m. till noon to mark the centenary of the Sliema primary school. Visitors can also view the school's World War II air raid shelter, which will be open for the occasion.
