Libyan Bilqasim Abdulhalmid Almokhtar was given a six month jail term suspended for a year after he admitted in court today to having threatened four police officers and damaging a police car in St George’s Street St Julians yesterday at about 3 a.m.

He will be deported after paying for the damages made to the car.

In a separate arraignment, another two Libyan men were charged over their involvement in a fight in the same street two hours later.

Eman Issa Yacoub and Fthi Emhmed Abdul Salam Zuwmh were charged with assaulting and threatening police, breaching the peace, disobeying police and being drunk in public.

Mr Yacoub alone was charged with slightly injuring Steven Sciberras. Mr Zuwmh admitted to the charges and was given a six month jail term suspended for a year while Mr Yacoub pleaded not guilty and was remanded in police custody.
