The Lion King was recently performed during this year's Prize Day ceremony at the Archbishop's Minor Seminary secondary school, Tal-Virtù.
The show had a cast of over 100 students and also featured the school choir and band. The show brought together the creation of animal masks, elaborate costumes, vivid make-up, as well as stage design depicting 'Pride Rock' and the 'Elephant Graveyard', together with jungle and Savannah scenery.
The performance was choreographed and directed by drama teacher Nicole Bugeja, while music teacher Edward Tagliaferro led the choir.
During his annual speech, reporting on the progress achieved in the last scholastic year, headmaster Fr David Cilia explained to the audience how The Lion King presents interesting life-questions, such as the importance of taking responsibility, finding one's true identity and finding one's rightful place in the 'Circle of Life'.
Prizes were distributed by Archbishop Paul Cremona who presided over the evening.
