Smoke issues settled in Thea’s second rehearsal

Filled with confidence, Thea Garrett this afternoon sailed through her second rehearsal for the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo. Different levels of dry ice were used to create artificial smoke, making sure everything will run smoothly on Tuesday’s semi-final.

During her last rehearsal a door was left open back-stage causing the artificial smoke to hinder her singing.

Thea’s voice remained strong throughout both rehearsals and with a simple performance, very little can go wrong.

The only surprise that remains now is Thea’s dress, since for rehearsals she has been wearing the dress she wore during the local contest.

Although most bookmakers are largely ignoring Thea’s song, suggesting that she would find it difficult to qualify for the final, an online gadget created by Google to predict the Eurovision winner, is placing her third.

The Google Eurovision predictor tracks the interest each act is generating online, to gauge the popularity of the songs. It also excludes internet interest coming from one’s own country since countries cannot vote for themselves.

Last year it was accurate in predicting the Norwegian winner, but so were most bookmakers.

This year, it tips one of the bookies’ favourites, Germany’s Lena, to win the contest, but then places Georgia’s entry at second and Malta’s in third place – both songs that have not made the top 10 of most betting firms.

Please stop using CAPS LOCK. Learn some netiquette. And some lessons on punctuation would help, too.

@John Abela

What is your point Mr. Netiquette? I thought you were going to comment on what I said and not about Caps Lock.. hope I wrote that correct and this time I learned some netiquette, or should I write it as you did “CAPS LOCK”… I am always eager to learn new things. Oops I nearly forgot I need to learn also how to use punctuations…Maybe you give me some lessons that is, if you stay all night doing something worthwhile. As for your information I wrote that at around 4.00 in the morning while I was having a break.

So I hope you will teach me. But now how about commenting or criticizing of what I said, that would be interesting. Don’t you think so, again Mr. Netiquette!! By the way I am being very polite with you. Thanks

@ Tony Scott

As in every other social situation, there are basics of etiquette which are applicable online. The use of capital letters is not considered to be polite and is the equivalent of shouting at the top of your voice. Call me picky, but I consider it to be the equivalent of bad manners on the internet and wanted to point it out. I am sorry if my tone was perceived as being rude; I apologise - no harm meant.

I do not need to comment on the content of your comment. It does not, in the least, concern me, unfortunately.
