As part of its ongoing endeavours to support worthy causes, Deloitte has taken up sponsorship of Antoine Carabott and Mark Micallef - two Deloitte staff members who will be taking part in the Lifecycle Challenge 2010 taking place in August.
This year's challenge involves cycling over 2,000 km from Venice to Manchester, which includes taking on some of the toughest bike routes in Europe including St Gotthard Pass, a mountain pass in Switzerland which peaks at over 2100m above sea level. The two-week challenge comes to an end in Old Trafford, Manchester United.
The Lifecycle Challenge is an annual fund-raising event organised by the Lifecycle Organisation. Founded in 1999 to create awareness and generate support for patients suffering from end stage renal disease, the organisation aims to raise funds for this cause by encouraging donations from the public.
Paul Mercieca, managing partner at Deloitte, said: "Deloitte is proud that two of its staff are undertaking such a noble endeavour and is delighted to be supporting such a praiseworthy cause. We hope to continue being able to contribute to similar worthy causes".
