The event aims to highlight the new aspects of the Health Research Work Programme for 2011. This includes providing guidance on proposal preparation and facilitating matchmaking. The programme consists of plenary sessions and several parallel sessions on participating in the FP7 health theme, including an overview of the theme and draft Work Programme for 2011, participating in an EU-funded project, strategic planning for small- and medium-sized enterprises and steps to success when participating in an EU-funded project.

June 21, On-the-Job Training
Session for SMEs' Environmental Compliance, Austria


This workshop aims to exchange best practices regarding services for SMEs to improve their environmental performance. The project promotes sustainability in small and large businesses in various sectors through efficient and economic management practices. Businesses will receive tailored consultancy to help them implement environmental projects applicable to five programmes: Ecobonus, Ecoprofit, the EcoQuality Label for tourism, ISO 14001 and EMAS.

The first On-the-Job ECAP Training Session will take place on June 21 at EcoBusinessPlan, within the Department for Environmental Protection of the Vienna City Administration, Austria.

June 21- 23 Society for Risk Analysis - Europe Annual Meeting, London
This meeting aims to facilitate interaction among all actors in the field of risk: academics from across the disciplines, policy makers, the private sector, non-governmental organisations and other interest groups. The special theme of the conference will be Risk, Governance and Accountability. This theme highlights the increasing centrality of risk analysis to decision-making in a wide range of policy and organisational contexts and the increasing demands by the public for decision makers to account for outcomes. The event is also an opportunity for risk analysts to discuss issues, problems, goals and future research questions. New areas for risk analysis are emerging and new disciplines are contributing to the ongoing debate about risk analysis and management.

This event will feature keynote presentations addressing current challenges in technology and entrepreneurial innovation in Europe. The discussion will concern the importance for Europe's industry, academic, private investment, research, government and scientific sectors to work collaboratively. This will aid in increasing the level of innovation required to successfully compete globally. It will also examine the question of how best to unlock Europe's true potential with the European Alliance for Innovation serving as a conduit to information and communication technology innovation through strategic and grassroots initiatives. The conference will finish with special interest group working sessions centring on science for innovation, business and technology.
