Jenny Meadows is eager for the IAAF to decide on the future career of Caster Semenya - because of her own self-interest.
IAAF president Lamine Diack last week revealed the world governing body plan to finally announce by the end of June the result of the gender test Semenya undertook after winning last August's World Championships 80m.
Initially an announcement was scheduled to be made in Monaco last November but it was deferred and has now developed into a long-running saga, leaving the 19-year-old South African in limbo.
British athlete Meadows, who finished third behind the South African teenager and Janeth Jepkosgei, of Kenya, in Berlin, has in the past patiently awaited to hear the result of the tests carried out by a panel of medical experts. But now she has called for a resolution.
"To be very honest, I can't believe that we're still in this situation," said Meadows.
"I really think it should have been cleared up before the start of the outdoor season. I have not a clue what the announcement will be, not a clue."
Meadows could be upgraded to the silver medal if an adverse finding is confirmed and is concerned the saga is dragging on.
