Deputy Prime Minister Tonio Borg writes (May 15): "Dr Cassola should have been careful before associating himself with such strange bedfellows (European Greens in the European Parliament, well-known for the championing of the liberalisation of abortion in Europe)."
The Deputy Prime Minister should look at himself in the mirror before imparting advice to political adversaries. Dr Borg seems to forget that Italy, for example, voted to introduce abortion during the Premiership of his much lauded Christian Democratic colleague Arnaldo Forlani in 1981 who, at that time, was leading a Democrazia Cristiana government laden with P2 illegal freemasons coming from his party.
Dr Borg also seems to forget that every time he rushes to get a photo opportunity with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, he is rushing to embrace the leader of the Christian Democratic party that tolerates and allows abortion in Germany.
Before giving advice or lectures to others, Dr Borg should first clear his own conscience.
