Strange names indeed, but those4143 babies born in Malta are they all of maltese-Gozitans families,.We do not know who gave those names,do we? So if those names were given by non Maltese parents, for them such a name will not be strange at all. Some clarification is needed.

Come on... We all know the extent some Maltese parents will go to... Besides it's not uncommon to hear mothers shouting at their "Rihanna", "Beyonce", "Shakira" or "Shania".

PLEASE think of the children when they grow up. Some names seem ok when they are young but ridiculous when they grow up.. Rihanna, Denzil, Shazen, Sheldon, Kayden, one hardly knows if they are girls or boys names and will be absurd when they are older. Granny Rihanna, Grandpa Shazen !!!!!!

Depends. By the time Rihanna is a granny, only God knows what her grandchildren will be called.

Imagine 30 years ago naming a child Elvis or Zoff, it would have made sense then, but now?

At the beginning of life, we give a name, and at the end of life a " good name " is all we take with us.

Talking about naming children with footballer names, how about naming baby baby Shittu (Nigerian national team player), or a baby girl Demel (Ivory Coast national team player)?
