A public lecture on the theme 'Refugee children: Global challenges, local reponses' will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Gateway Building Hall C, by the Department of Social Policy and Social Work. The speaker is Charles Watters, professor of childhood studies at Rutgers University, US.

His research includes a comparative study into the mental health and social care of refugees in four European countries and studies of reception arrangements for unaccompanied asylum seekers in Europe.

He is the founding editor of the International Journal of Migration, Health and Social Care and reader in international migration at the University of Kent, UK.
