A group of 16 new police recruits recently undertook voluntary work at the Arka respite centre in Għajnsielem.

The work included whitewashing, cleaning, maintenance, gardening and helping out in the kitchen. Recruits are carrying out voluntary work at non-profit organisations.

Leading the group was Arka assistant director Fr Michael Galea. Arka director Mgr Manwel Curmi thanked the Police Commissioner, who year in, year out sends cadets to help the respite centre.
