Schoolchildren celebrate Europe Day

More than 100 children attending schools within the Gozo College gave a colourful exhibition of theatre, dance and movement to mark Europe Day at Independence Square, Victoria, last Sunday.

The Gozo College Choir, made up of schoolchildren from Victoria primary school and the girls' secondary school, took part in the celebration.

The choir, under the direction of Mariella Spiteri, sang the college hymn and Kanti Popolari, traditional folk tunes by Charles Camilleri.

The activity was part of a programme of events held by the European Commission Representation in Malta and the European Parliament Office to mark the 60th anniversary of the Robert Schuman declaration.
