St Benedict College Safi Primary recently celebrated book week. It adopted the slogan 'Open Books... Open Doors for Quality Education for All'.

The school joined the worldwide advocacy campaign organised by the Global Campaign for Education (GCE), an international coalition of NGOs and teacher unions in supporting children, youth and adult literacy and lifelong learning.

The reading initiatives held during this week were intended to send a strong message about the importance of literacy.

Various literacy events were planned in conjunction with author Charles Casha and his publishing house Klabb Kotba Maltin, addressing all pupils, teachers, parents and workers at school.

A meeting for parents was prepared on the theme 'Kif inħajru lil uliedna jaqraw'. Importance was also given to writing skills, such as how to formulate reports and write letters.
