I refer to last weekend's Valletta vintage car racecourse and would like to air my disapproval. It is unfair on Valletta residents, especially the elderly, to be restricted to Valletta for a good part of the weekend because someone decides that the Valletta ring road is an ideal racecourse. Valletta, with all due respect, is not a motor car racecourse, even though admittedly the way some people drive at times may indicate otherwise.
To make things worse, this year the timing of this event coincided with Mother's Day. Surely those responsible, if intent on using Valletta as a racecourse, could have at least chosen another day. People do have mothers and would like to treat them on this special occasion.
I sincerely hope that next time around a bit more thought is given before such events are organised. It would be nice if for once the views of Valletta residents are sought before such events are held.
