Martin Galea and Mark Camilleri were elected to the Maltese Olympic Committee during a quadrennial council meeting at the MOC headquarters on Wednesday.
In a statement signed by Charles Camenzuli, Director of Media and PR, the MOC said Galea and Camilleri will fill the void left by Kirill Micallef Stafrace and Anthony Chircop who resigned from the Executive.
Galea and Camilleri will serve in the committee for the remaining term of office which ends in 2012.
Galea, president of the Malta Rugby Football Union, was nominated by his federation and seconded by the Malta Billiards and Snooker Association while Camilleri, Malta Tennis Federation vice president, was nominated by his federation and seconded by the Malta Tenpin Bowling Association.
During the council meeting, MOC secretary general Joseph Cassar gave an overview of what happened within the MOC administration since January.
Also during the assembly, Lino Farrugia Sacco, MOC president, gave details on an agreement reached recently with Kunsill Malti ghall-iSport relative to the funding for local sports associations for 2010.
